mikechell 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2016 Again, I won't comment on the music because I watch without sound. The video is acceptable. At .57 ... you write "tie in a short peice of zonker". It's piece ... not peice !!! PAY ATTENTION IN SCHOOL !!! PROOF READ !!! You're doing nice, short videos. Don't make yourself look like a dummy by misspelling words on them. mikechell 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2016 No, feathers5, on this I can't lighten up !!! There's a serious problem with the "dumbing" down happening in this world today. Texting and all the other forms of instant messaging are allowing people to make up words, misspell words, improperly abbreviate words, incorrectly use punctuation and capitalization ... or not using either of those, et al. You write, "Wow, Mike, you are a reel hard ass. This ain't English class. Lightin up." Since I do not know if you're trying to be facetious or not, I think those two words create the impression of stupidity. I can let "ain't" go, since they add new words to the dictionary each year, mostly to cater to the dumb masses that don't recognize incorrectness. Yes, I can be a hard ass about this. It relates, to some degree, to the adage, "The only thing needed for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing."
add147 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2016 LOL...I see it everyday...If some of these folks were in the business world I do not think they would last long. Mike is not being a hard butt nor a wise butt. Spelling and proper grammer makes a HUGE difference if one is trying to snag a job. It is always a good habit to practice good grammer and spelling. Just my opinion...

fishinguy 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2016 I don't fish redfish or tie worm flies. But, if I tied that, I would build up the under body ahead of where the estaz and zonker are tied in with lead wire or maybe more estaz. I'd also figure 8 the estaz around the eyes. But that narrow at the front body shape may have been what you're after. Short and sweet otherwise (sounds was off).

FlatsRoamer 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2016 Dang Mike I just think this storm is making you a little bit too snippy today And I have tried doing the figure 8 with the estaz but it really crowds up the eye for me, but with flat diamond braid I do that... josephcsylvia 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2016 Guys I agree But how did you guys like the video? Please don't hijack my thread for the billionth time Flats, most threads wonder off a bit and then get back on track. Telling people not to wonder or Hi jack is not likely to work and quickly gets people to start ignoring your posts. Not to mention Mike telling you about spelling was completely on topic as you asked us what we thought about your video and that was in the video. On the fly and video. Nice job keeping things moving. If I was tying it I would turn the Zonker strip over since the fly is going to ride point up on the bottom id want the fur up for movement. Figure eight around the eyes not only builds up a taper but helps protect the threads. One thing I noticed you never do, atleast not on camera is head cement or put something on the front threads. It helps alot with durability.
