Softhackle Parachute Dun SBS

Found this on a South African site; kind of like a Jingler in a horizontal orientation. Per the article, "the wider hen hackle adds an extra trigger for the fish as it creates lots of movement and creates a nice profile on the water." Don't know whether that's true or not; I just thought they were cool looking. Change color/size (this one's not an Ansel Adams version; these are actually color shots) to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 320 #12

thread - Danville 6/0 grey

tail - grizzly hackle fibers

abdomen - biot grey

wing - Congo Hair white

thorax - muskrat

hackle - grizzly (oversize by 1), Indian hen

mash barb, start thread; wrap to point above barb and create a thread bump

measure (shank length) some grizzly fibers; tie in tight against the bump to set proper angle

moisten biot, tie in notch side down for the ribbed effect (reverse if you want a smooth body); wrap forward , tie off/trim at 3/4 mark

I tie and fish lots of parachute dries and soft hackle wets - never thought of combining them! I will have to give this one a try.
