January Flies from the Vise

Recommended Posts

Still playing around with Crease flys and different materials...mix of Bucktail and Craft fur for tails with some Crystal Flash and some foils, pearl silicone and Pearl tubing for the bodies.

All coloring done with pens instead of painting this time.

The yellow highlights don't show up for some reasons on this one,,but from the top of the eye and the black dot is all yellow.

This looks better in real life than it does in this picture...pearl silicone body with Pearl Mylar tubing over it.

This is a crease fly I had in the saltwater section.

I use the brassie tool as a guide to cut the shape in the foam. Then I trim it to hook size.

Love those Cream. Did you use any material inside the head to bulk it up?

Cream - those are great. Make me think of a thunder creek streamer... but with more movement given the marabou. Have they worked out well for you? Cant imagine that the would not - they look amazing. Going to have to try tying up a few.

Made a video on making a simple streamer a little bit ago. Nice little bait fish pattern that catches EVERYTHING
