mikechell 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2017 Is this tail too long? IMG_0676.JPG No, but it does make your butt look big !!! I'm in the corner of, yes. Because the first short strike you get will likely leave you with no tail at all. I don't tie anything that big, but even on the smaller flies I tie, I keep the tail short. agn54 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2017 Bimini, not at all. I have had a ton of luck on whistler style flies with really long tails. Basically something like the D.C. Wiggler

mikechell 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2017 I don't tie anything as small as that nicely tied thing on your finger, Manaj. This is as small as I go 1/2" on a size 12 (I think) ... And some 3/4" on size 8 limericks ... Cabin fever sucks ... I see why some of you Northerners fill up numerous boxes. Another great reason to live in Florida ... I usually fish more than I tie. mvendon 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2017 Some nice looking ties everyone! Do you think these will work? Hi GP, You did a very nice job, and they'll work just fine, but you should use longer hackle for the two parachutes. The hackle tips should go just about to the bend of the hook. They are way more effective that way. Regards, Mark
