mikechell 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2017 Nice deer hair work, Johnny. I was sitting here, at the desk in the hotel, and this bug landed on the lamp shade !!! And crawled around a bit ... So I tied a replica !!! Actually, I was going to respond, on the "Realistic Flies" forum, to the guy looking to make wings. But I realized he was looking for perfectly realistic ... for museum displays, not for fly fishing. For fishing, we need not be so perfect. Dryer sheet: Stretched out and painted black with fingernail polish: I used Scotch Tape ... just because I have it here in the hotel room ... but there's a number of ways to turn the dryer sheet into wing. Bimini15 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 A rare occurrence for me. A fly tied almost a month ahead of schedule. I am dragging this thing in the shallows next to shore starting in mid february.

j8000 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2017 While I am not much into dry fly fishing and have thus not tied any I figured I'd tie a small bunch up for spring just in case I feel the need. I have tied a few more, but they are not very picture pretty.
