Feb flies from the vise

Recommended Posts

Seeing too many rodents lately so I decided to give it a try.

Didn't really have the right materials but gave it a shot anyway. First one was a good learning experience.

First attempt at a pike fly, always wanted to fish for pike but we don't really have them around here, so this one's bound for someone who can use it.

Bimini, that was done with the tan top side of a white bucktail and regular deer hair for the white.

That was the second one I tied though.

The first one, the learning one, although maybe fishable is quite ugly...like a drowned rat.

First attempt at a multi-jointed fly using Aberdeen hooks cut off just before the bend as the middle two joints. Mustad 3366 hooks fore and aft. The bodies are just sparkle dubbing with hen hackle palmered through it. It's not where I want it to be appearance-wise, yet, but....it's a start.
