vicente 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2017 If you would like I could forward them to li'l Dave or Adam to send to little Dave since Dave is already in my bugger swap I'll have to be sending a package his way anyhow.

Flat Rock native 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2017 My coment was just a joke about how differen't postage prices are! Sorry!:-) Speaking just for me, I always presume everything you post is a joke (not the fly porn you tie up) until proven otherwise... UPS and Fed Ex pricing, however, is no laughing matter when trying to ship out locally from here in BumFookEgypt, Wyoming. Ridiculous. Sent two heirloom rods to my nephew recently. To Portland, OR the cost would have paid for his new, entry level combo that I suggested his mom get him for a gift occasion. Sure hope he likes Uncle D'S fiberglass Garcia as much as I did. Perfect dry fly action. Before I sent it, I tested on a pod of stocker rainbows, hooked up on 10 straight casts, called it good. Fishing here excellent, shipping is a Suuccafachi. Life is about trade-offs.....
vicrider 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2017 vicente, good plan just means Dave gets his buggers a little late. DAVE...maybe you should consider each volunteer picking a category for 12 or 14 flies. Otherwise you'll have no idea what you'll end up with. I'm sure you don't want a 100 nymphs and no dry flies. cphubert 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2017 Mrs Simpson- I'm tying classic red body, 1/3rd flank spacing, brown with black squirrel tail.
Flat Rock native 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2017 Mrs Simpson- I'm tying classic red body, 1/3rd flank spacing, brown with black squirrel tail. I am waiting for clarification, although I hope to see a photo of this fly, cp. Perhaps I am misunderstanding, the request, I am thinking Dave wants >|= 12 fly assortment and the listed are examples of desirables. I will play it, how Dave directs, while agreeing with Nick's thinking on this.
Adam Saarinen 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2017 I tied 3 dries today, through em all in the bin! Think i've been tying to many saltwater & pike flies lately!?! Try again tommorrow!
Flat Rock native 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2017 I tied 3 dries today, through em all in the bin! Think i've been tying to many saltwater & pike flies lately!?! Try again tommorrow! Is the bin for those suitable for fishing but not framing. I have one, it gets pretty full, at times. Most content from Winged wet flies.......
jburge 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2017 FWIW, here's what I'm thinking (and Dave, please correct me if I'm wrong). I figured hey, what would be a good "sample" fly box for each woman, given a variety of circumstances. I'm thinking a box like: - 1 wooly bugger (size 10) - 2 pheasant tail nymphs (size 14) - 2 hare's ear nymphs (size 14) - 1 jb hopper variant (size 10) - 1 juana be hopper (size 12) - 2 para Adams (size 14) - 2 elk hair caddis (size 14) - 1 mayfly cripple/emerger (size 14) I'm game for whatever. It's a privilege to help. John
Li'lDave 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2017 Sorrt guys. Life. A good sample box is really what we're after. I do like the idea if each person tying a selection for this one rather than an individual pattern. A selection like Four dries Two wooly buggers Two emergers Four nymphs and Two terrestrials I have no skill with the mrs simpson soif someone is willing to do a dozen of those i will split them between the boxes. Postage... tough question. Ladt year we trued that and it didnt work great, but uf you want to try again tor those in the States and then just send one package over that is fine.
