Starting to enjoy dubbing over chenille for bug bellies. I had one similar to these that did very well this weekend with the bluegill.

I find myself picking up more spinnerbait skirts when I see them cheap, over fly tying legs. Much cheaper and many more colors.

And.... proof of concept. I was aiming for tilapia, and i definitely got interest, but a baby tarpon will do.

The fly sank very slowly, so am pretty happy with the result really. Though spinning is an issue.

Quick "mock up" using the Surface Seducer double barrel popper & slider body™. Wanted to see if the 2 wt could cast it. It did.

post-52832-0-79083400-1500401492_thumb.jpg

Pros:

Loud

Cool little recessed spots for eyes

2wt. friendly

Cons:

Rough looking (if I'd been in a fly shop, I wouldn't have purchased them)

Eight bodies cost the equivalent of five pairs of flip flops

I stacked some deer hair last night, and after trimming, I wasn't too pleased. I had to redeem myself with something simple.

Attempt #1 at a mouse. I learned a lot of little things while tying this one. It's on a 2/0 hook. Now I'm excited to tie the next one.
