RickZieger 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2017 Found this fly in an old Magazine. Called Dr. Mike started as a Steelhead fly abdomen in dubbing loop. speckled feather for hackle, peacock thorax, bead head. Changed colors for warmwater. Have caught fish on the green, red, and yellow.
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2017 Still working on restocking the boxes for this year. Just doing some simple buggers with a thin veil of flash hair over them which always produces for me. Nice, where do you tie in the flash hair? I just tie in a small amount as a veil at the head of the fly. Just enough to give the whole fly a bit of a shimmer look in the water.

Mike West 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2017 I have few of these Monsters also. Wine bottle cork...I'm guessing a 10wt to toss them. Couldn't find hooks big enough so had to do this. Used an Allen B200 #2 and a Gamakatsu B10 1/

Jaydub 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2017 Norm, your recent posts are taking me back to the roots of my fly tying. In the first class I took we tied the Brown Bivisible, Gray Hackle Peacock, Gray Hackle Yellow and Renegade. Now you need a Black Wooly Worm (grizzly hackle and a red yarn tail), Bucktail Caddis, Black Gnat (dry), Royal Coachman Trude and Rosborough's Meadow Grasshopper.
