JSzymczyk 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2017 very nicely done. I like that one a lot. Reminds me of the types of flies I started out with... flies that caught tons of fish, and flies that didn't have marketing companies screaming at me about NEEDING a special fly line to cast it with. RexW 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2017 Here's a Rangeley style Streamer fly.I'm trying to learn a new style of fly. The first attempt was too ugly to post, but this one turned out much better.
TheCream 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2017 Took the same shank/worm hook concept and applied it to my #1 bass streamer, the Murdich Minnow, to create a (mostly, nothing is 100%) weedless Murdich. Size is still the same as what I tie on a size 2 B10S. It tank tests great, I'll just have to see how well it actually fishes. If it fishes well and hooks fish, I may never tie them the "old way" again. Next to a traditional Murdich, as I tie them. I used a Mask on this one, just because I never have. It solves the issue of the eyes getting ripped off but is a more expensive fix than gluing on new ones. Wet.

MuskyFlyGuy 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2017 Great idea and execution. In the first picture, what is that tied on the front of the hook?
TheCream 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2017 Great idea and execution. In the first picture, what is that tied on the front of the hook? The only thing tied on in the first pic is a single strand of 25lb mono as a little extra weed guard.
