StY|EsoX 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2005 Did anyone made good pattern with this type of action?
hexfli 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2005 I would try sliders and diving bugs. They have that same front end shap as a spook. If you tie your own, you might want to make it more like a full point as opposed to a half point.
Sean Juan 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2005 I used to tie something I called a Baby Zara whic was nothing more than deer hair stacked to shape like a Zara Spook. The reason I used to tie it rather than still do is because I could never get the action right...but now you have me thinking that maybe a wool spook covered in silicon like the Popvics Silliclone would have better luck... nathan 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2005 If you ad a couple turns of lead wire low on the hook bend, that should help you out with the action your looking for..Nathan
Sean Juan 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2005 Thats it. They worked fine - but I never could get the action of a Zara - pretty close but not exact. The action was more subtle - and possibly more effective but never the same. Tried various leaders and tails but the deer hair never had the same rush to the surface that a spook has more of a slugh than a pop - thats the laws of physics for you. sparkleminnow 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2005 This will "walk-the-dog" for you if you leave the prop off. You will have to fiddle with the body shape, and weight on the tail to get the desired action.
