Fletchfishes 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2017 PT Soft Hackle. Simple, elegant and super effective in every trout stream I've visited. I've always had a soft spot for a Parachute Adams as it's the first fly I had real success on.
flyty1 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2017 Keep 'em coming...love to hear about patterns that I hadn't heard of previously...especially deadly ones!
j8000 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2017 This year it's been a Yellow Montreal with a Copper John dropper. It's about a 50/50 on which one the fish take.

thursthouse 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2017 CADenali, those flies are pretty... do you have a recipe for the second one - it's similar to one of my most productive nymphs
CADenali 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2017 Thursthouse, Thank you! Umpqua C200BL 12,14,16 Blk 8/0 Uni-thread Silver oval tinsel fine Body - Black Rabbit / black SLF squirrel nymph mix Thorax Mid- Orange nymph dubbing Thorax Front - Black Squirrel w/ "bench trash" sparkle mixed in Wing - Lt Dun CDC feather tied in bubble style Bench trash is left over tinsel/dubbing that I set aside when tying. When i have a small tray full I toss it in the spice grinder and give it a whirl or two. I have found it comes in handy for things like thorax dubbing, beetle & grasshopper under bodies etc. a little sparkle but not too much and coarse texture. onebadmofo 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2017 I would use only an Olive Woolly Bugger in a size 6 or 8 if I could only have one fly.
Ddow229 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2017 Wooly bugger in black with a little red flashabou. If I had time I would add a beadhead. I have trout, bass, panfish, pickerel mackerel, striped bass, landlocked salmon and I am probably forgetting some using it in sizes 8-12. Easy to tie and it just catches fish. Dry, love me some caddis.
