I fished a similar pattern but found the deer hair added too much floatation and pushed too much water on the swing and the fly wouldn't go very deep under tension. I remedied that by replacing the hair with a little webby hackle, creating the illusion of bulk without really adding any. I don't know if that's an issue you've had to deal with, but that's my experience. What I did like about the pattern was the cone and lead wire made the fly ride hook up. With a fly weighted that way I can bang it off rocks without hanging up and fish are almost always hooked in the corner of the mouth or the upper lip.
