September flies from the vise

Recommended Posts

C'mon guys. You're polluting the forum with those. What's next? Hackle on a store bought and jig and an earthworm? And then try to call it a fly.

Got my wife going to PetSmart next time she goes to the city. LOL

There was a time I simply refused to use a SanJuan WORM! Not so much last few years. If it ain't a feather rials people around here. I could care less, free country, foraging for mat'l in an area with no fly shops is challenging, fun and sometimes productive. Fly tying is a living craft you fuddy duddies can KODA!!!!! Starting with you vicrider..."lol" doesn't excuse the sarcasm!

All from Allen McGee's book fly fishing soft hackles, albeit not so nicely tied as his... made it up to eastern sierras tonight for four days...

restocking salmon boxes,

Besure, designed by Robert Chaisson, Nova Scotia, for the Margaree. Robert is a guide and a great person I've copied this and a few of his patterns.

Cphubert last one is interesting, is the bead attached to a mono post?

Where do you fish for Salmon?

I've had 2 trips cancelled to lake Erie, but it's still on my bucket list.

fshng2- Yes the bead is on a mono post I used to use a bent bead head pin but switched to mono because I was told it was more durable. I fish Nova Scotia or PEI (small run on the Morell) used to fish Gaspe on occasion. I have heard that the Atlantic's where making a return in the lake Champlain and Ontario systems. We have a small (2 river) brood stock fishery in Connecticut left over from the Connecticut river restoration project, late fall into winter.

An experiment:

Hiding at the front of the trailer hook there is a sequin. I am hoping it will make the whole back wiggle. And I wonder if the zonker will get in the way and if it is going to cast well.
