Great pattern, JD...have fished with it many times...nice action...like to fish them early in the morning and just before dark...especially if the water is glass calm...thanks for the submission!!

I have to agree, great fly! Man I love those things, they're easy to tie, float the way a topwater fly should, are light weight & catch plenty of fish!

I like a neck hackle tail, splayed out like a frogs legs but that's just my personal preference! Any way it's tied is a great fly!

I've done away with the wrapped hackle on the ones I tie. I wrap the shank with sparkle chenille or varigated tinsel chenille and add 3 pairs of legs to the fly. Seems to produce more strikes than the standard tie for the gurgler.
