Guest Report post Posted November 24, 2003 Great pattern, JD...have fished with it many times...nice action...like to fish them early in the morning and just before dark...especially if the water is glass calm...thanks for the submission!!
Guest Report post Posted November 24, 2003 I have to agree, great fly! Man I love those things, they're easy to tie, float the way a topwater fly should, are light weight & catch plenty of fish! I like a neck hackle tail, splayed out like a frogs legs but that's just my personal preference! Any way it's tied is a great fly! Thanks JD!
Philly 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 I've done away with the wrapped hackle on the ones I tie. I wrap the shank with sparkle chenille or varigated tinsel chenille and add 3 pairs of legs to the fly. Seems to produce more strikes than the standard tie for the gurgler.
