Philly 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2018 These are some bass size mop flies I've been paying with. These two are intended for salt water. My attempt at a Cinder Worm. We have a decent hatch on the South Jersey shore. I'm leaning toward the floating one, since they often swim on the surface. These are for bass or anything else that will take them. I also plan to do them as a surface fly using the same head configuration. These are the result of a question from a newbie on another wondering if he could tie a PT nymph on a size 18 shrimp/caddis pupa hook. Nothing fancy, no wing case or legs. Normally, I would tie them as soft hackles. I've done well on Valley Creek, local wild trout stream. Smaller one is tied on a size 18 TMC 2488, the larger one is tied on a size 18 TMC 101.
