McFlyLures 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2018 Well lets be honest here, this is not the easiest fly in the world to tie. However, the versatility of it, and the effectiveness is absolutely amazing! Its also durable, and has the ability to interchange the tails so you can really have a few flies in one. With foam towards the back of the fly, and the weight added by the UV resin head, this fly walks the dog effortlessly. Its perfect for top water bass fishing. JSzymczyk 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2018 I've tied a very similar pattern without the interchangeable tail for many years- I put a short marabou tail in the end. Originally tied them as a sort of floating baitfish to use in salt water on the Gulf Coast but have found them to be a lot of fun for river smallmouths as well. Closed-cell foam inside what I think was called "Corsair Tubing" for the body and 3D eyes at the head covered with silicone.
