Hook - Streamer style

Thread - Black

Weight - Optional

Tail assembly - #12 barrel swivel, .23 inch diameter split ring and size 00 colorado spinner blade

Tail assembly connection to hook shank - .015 diameter beadalon 7 strand wire

Ribbing - Flat silver tinsel

Body - Chenille in your choice of color

Wing - 2 or 4 hackle tips - white, grizzly, brown, badger, red, yellow, orange etc

Collar - White, grizzly, brown, badger, red, yellow, orange etc

Skip Morris's Quigley variation. Tied here as a PMD; change color/size to suit your needs.

thread - Danville 6/0 yellow

rib - x-small wire copper

tail/abdomen - pheasant tail

thorax - dubbing yellow

wingpad/wing - deer hair bleached

Kimo ... you know I think you're scuds are the best, period ... but I have a question.

 

On some, like the one above, the "legs" are very thick. (Not diameter ... bunches)

Do you ever realize a hook-set miss ... and blame the legs for blocking the hook point?

Haven't had a problem with that yet.

The "legs" are very dense but they also taper at the end.

Also they "part" rather nicely while in the water.

Tied without glasses and a severe CTS flare up. Carpal tunnel syndrome. Wrist is swellellef double normal and fused feeling during tie. Was fuzzy because lost 2 glasses for doing small flies. Probably my worst fly but achievement under circumstances

Tied without glasses and a severe CTS flare up. Carpal tunnel syndrome. Wrist is swellellef double normal and fused feeling during tie. Was fuzzy because lost 2 glasses for doing small flies. Probably my worst fly but achievement under circumstances

if that were in my box it would see water the next time I had a chance at trout.

Holy Moly !!!

I won't bother tying flies if I've got a band-aid on a "needed" finger.

Tying flies under your list of conditions? Just say no!
