utyer 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2018 While I agree with Norm's comment that you can tie wet flies or nymphs with dry fly hackle, I wouldn't be using up an expensive dry fly saddle on those patterns. There will be some more webby feathers yes, but don't use those good long hackles on nymphs. My dun saddle is a little darker, and I can tie flies from size 18 to 22 with it.
