Crackaig 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2019 I was told the other day that Hogmanay is only celebrated properly in Scotland. My reply was that is because the only place New Year's Eve is called Hogmanay is Scotland! "They don't celebrate Silvester in Scotland do they?" I then asked. A blank look so I had to explain that when I lived in Hannover they called New Year's Eve "Silvester". At least here they are honest about it. It is an excuse to get drunk. Even the 2nd is a public holiday for the Scots to recover from the hangover. As always I wish you all well, whether you are celebrating or not. Cheers, C.
