sandflyx 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2019 Hurricane streamer (wonder streamer) originated by: Fred b. Fowler of Oquossoc, Maine in 1925. it is considered a productive fly for Land Lock Salmon in Maine. often tied as a tandom fly for trolling.

olive_dabbler 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2019 Corixa Cruncher Hook: Tiemco 3769 or 9300 #10-14 Tail: Brown rooster hackle fibresBack: Hen pheasantRib: Silver wireBody: Madeira metallic Col. 300 (Pearl)Hackle: Brown rooster, kept to around 1/2 a shank's lengthThread: Uni 8/0 white, switched for brown for head. Head tied large.I first discovered Madeira metallic threads by raiding the OH's embroidery cabinet! The pearl version has become a staple for corixa patterns - makes superb bodies and to adjust the thickness all it takes is more wraps. A more suggestive pattern than other corixa patterns I've tied, based on a similar pattern from Davie McPhail, but it is so quick to tie in a range of sizes. Thanks for looking. Mike West 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2019 Couple of furled Gurglers...never tried this before and not my idea, combined a few ideas/patterns I saw on the net. Just looking at these I have enough confidence that they will work very well that Im going to whip up some more before even trying them out. I got some glue on my fingers and jacked the eyes up but you get the idea.
Mike West 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2019 Cream, I know what you mean about the mouse but I dont think a mouse should float anyways. They swim pretty much sunken with just their head sticking up struggling not to drown. Same with a frog...ass end hanging below the surface with their head and eyes sticking out of the water. Nice tie though as always. You too Rusmaster nice mouse tie....thatll fish.

Every mouse I've ever seen that's fallen in the water has swam right across the creek/pond on top of the water.
