ggmiller 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2019 Well, I'm in the computer field. Been a Network Administrator for a school district in northern Montana and a small company in Utah. Right now I currently work the Service Desk for a large banking corporation in Montana. Pay and benefits for the help desk was better than most admin jobs I was looking at. Now trying to decide which department I'd like to transfer to, when opportunity knocks. Been working the computer field for the past 25 years or so. I like computer more than most people. I started tying flies, as a hobby, for stress relief, never fly fished until about 3 years later. Really enjoy both. Mark - them are some awesome knives!! utyer 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2019 I retired from the Ski industry in 1980, and opened a Tackle Repair Business. Went back to college 1989 and studied Information systems management. The Tackle repair shop I sold in 1995. In 96 started working in the IT field. Was the network administrator at Fallingwater for 12 years, and in 2010 retired PERMANENTLY. Now I fish, tie flies and paint in watercolor and oils. I am way behind in special commissions (all from my wife.) In reality, I just keep the yard mowed, and trimmed and fix what ever breaks. Then I try and stay out trouble.

Mike West 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2019 I was just thinking. Right out of high school in like 1977-1978 I got a job on a drilling rig as driller’s helper. We drilled holes for the government for geothermal energy and then later water wells for the private sector. Also built wood shipping crates on a Government contact to ship the tail sections of helicopters. Those two government contracts opened my young eyes to how evil, corrupt and wasteful our government is. We’ve all heard stories of those for $400 toilet seats you can buy at Home Depot for 20 bucks? It’s not folklore. If anybody is really interested I’ll type it all out .

MuskyFlyGuy 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2019 Lots of interesting people on this forum. I enjoy hearing your stories. I taught high school for a long time and then was a HS Principal for 17 years. Been retired for ten years and am thankful every day. For about 20 years I moonlighted as a professional musician. Got to play in backup bands for people like Bob Hope, Don Rickles, Eddy Arnold, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Sammy Davis Jr., James Brown, Gladys Knight (with the Pips), and others. It was an amazing experience.
