What are good cod and haulibut flies?

Recommended Posts

Just about everything in salt water eats smaller fish, crabs or shrimp. Any of those patterns should work. Just add a lot of weight to get them down near the bottom.

Then tie them onto a spinning rod/reel set up to get it down to them, since they'll be too heavy to cast with a fly rod.

Mark goes after deep fish with a fly rod ... but I'm still waiting for a video to see how that is done. blink.png

He probably goes out on a boat and strips most of his line, then uses the fly rod like a spin rod, propelling the fly with it's weight.
