Bryon Anderson 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2019 This is what I've been using, and I really like it. Just got rid of that recliner, though, so I'm going to have to build a different one.
utyer 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2019 Chugbug, Two of my 5 vises are pictured. In the last photo, my Dyna-king Sidewinder is on the bench alone. This so far is the only other vise that I have found that will spin. It doesn't spin at the same speed as my Nor-vise, but I can spin it. I have had it for over 10 years, and it was well used before I got it. It was no longer in the line when I got it. The picture was taken in the spring of this year, while I was getting ready for a week trip for some Saltwater fishing with my buddy from out west. I needed to get some flies ready for him to use. CasualAngler 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2019 My setup is as Commerce City (cheap) as one can get. A cardboard box my Materials came in, a block of wood to hold my tools, & a Thompson Model C on a weighted pedestal. Commerce city comment cracked me up No offense intended to the Municipality; after all, the Burrito Company's there...

Kimo 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2019 Mine continues to evolve. Kimo Holy cow, Kimo! Thanks Tier, Please note that I am devout tinkerer and much of the stuff that I have was given to me by friends trying to pay back for flies that I have given then or done work for them. I was also a friend of Shane Stalcup before he passed. I got a lot of stuff from him. Also, I have created several tying videos and am part of one of the most popular flytying video sites. That necessitates a whole different set of tools and skills. Finally I am a designer with a major fly tying producer and actively developing and submitting flies for inclusion in their catalog. Most of all this is fun shit! So why not go all out. My bench continues to evolve because I continue to evolve as a fly designer and fly fisherman. corney 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2019 When I travel, I use my portable system. That's airplane travel? And a bag with materials.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2019 Yes, Corney. Airplane travel. I have that kit and a Cabela's "tackle bag" full of materials in my checked suitcase. Complete with a week's worth of work and leisure clothes ... it comes to just under the limit of 50 pounds.
DavidR 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2019 Kimo, I hate to assume...so I’ll guess you are doing a lot, if not all, of your camera work at that desk aswell ? I think I’d struggle to tie at that desk with all the lights and attachments around it, I’d be banging my hand into something constantly...one would need to be highly organized in their material layout prior to tying.
