Everglades backcountry report, 6 January

Recommended Posts

Lots and lots of small snook in the backcountry now... find a stretch of shoreline holding them and almost every cast gets bit using clouser based flies in size 1/0... We're still in a transition period between the fish being outside along the gulf coast - and up in the interior bays. A good cold front or two (we're in one now...) and that will change. As usual flies with weedguards when you're working mangrove shorelines and downed trees are a very good idea..

Here's a copy of this week's fishing report (but no fly fishing was involved I'm afraid - just light spinning gear using small leadheads wtih Gulp tails mostly...)...
