Philly 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2020 Nice. I use a lot of the pre-formed bodies. I use mainly white, sometimes yellow ones. Since I tend to color, apply transfer foil and coat mine with UV resin that removes them from the simple foam popper category. One of the first foam poppers I learned was called the "fun foam" popper by the guy who showed it to me. Materials were a foam circle for the popper head, marabou for the tail and wrapped hackle for the body. I later added a heart shaped piece of foam to make the head. A quick tie, even for someone just learning. You can buy bags of foam circles of mixed colors and sizes at most craft stores. Heart shaped pieces should be available now. I apologize for the quality of the pictures. These were probably taken 20 years ago when I was first learning to take and post pictures.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2020 The ones you made from the "front half" or larger end of the preformed foam ... could be made with flip flops.
Guest Report post Posted January 21, 2020 Heres the post with the foam divers from foam discs. I fashioned after Cdads. Gonna put 5mm glass rattle in when make some more. http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?showtopic=88423 Cork, foam I glitter not paint hardly anymore. Never punched out flip flops. Looks easy and pic colors so no painting. BTW Stopped using the bent hooks; theyre just too long. Use the mustad salty ones from Acedemy. The Krazyglue holds them plenty good to foam.
