TheCream 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2020 Cream, what is the tail? A thin strip of Cohen's Fly Suede and a little bit of marabou.

Flat Rock native 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2020 I do a bunch of clousers in very similar colors for Peacock bass down here in south Florida... Hook rides down and great action during swim test. Put on the Large Mardi Gras beadchain to push a bit more water. Peacocks must be cannibals, too. Yellow Perch juveniles are on the menu here. Think I saw your clousers here or on another site. Taking the 5th on acquisition of the plastic beads

mikechell 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2020 TIER. Are you sure those are "shrimp" patterns? They look more like squid in the picture.
TIER 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2020 Thata what i'm trying to figure out, mike. How do I fix it?
mikechell 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2020 Sorry, you're still taking out-of-focus pictures that don't show enough detail to help you fix anything. So ... What size shrimp are you trying to duplicate? What "attitude"? Fleeing or feeding? The fly you posted, if I see it correctly, appears to be a feeding squid, with the tentacles at the hook eye, so it's swimming "mouth first". This is one of my favorite patterns. (Because it's made with inexpensive materials, I suppose) https://thefeatherbender.com/2013/04/16/fly-tying-course-14-the-ribbon-shrimp/
mikechell 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2020 I want you to try something. When I take pictures of flies, I almost always lay them on a surface. Rarely are they in the vise. If they are in the vise, there's a surface right behind it. I believe you're camera/phone is auto-focusing on something in the background. Try laying a fly on a surface, and taking the picture that way. See if the focus is better that way.
