tail - moose body hair

body/head - 1mm foam purple

legs - barred medium rubber

hackle - grizzly dyed purple (Phlox - 1 1/2 Tsp Rit Violet, 1 1/2Tsp Rit Purple/1 cups water)

wing - Congo Hair white

Great fly, Norm... should fish well in Rockies, much like the Rio Grand King, but slimmer, more elegant natural colors.. Thank you and keep posting these Classics.

I tied this pattern for stillwater fishing in the Pacific Northwest. It worked pretty well. I believe it is a BC pattern. Cannot get Sunfish here in the South to touch it, though.

Flytire, like others have said, I enjoy looking at your classics! I also enjoy looking at everyone else's flies too. The mix on this site as well as other sites amazes me, from the classics to the downright bizarre. And if you haven't done so already, check out some low vision devices. There are some excellent high power magnifiers out there.
