Kimo 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2020 kimo could you show us the skeleton of these game changers you are tying? how many? sizes? etc im curious of how many links you are using and the hook thanks in advance norm Hope your recovery is going well. I got the Starter Pack to test out. Use one of the tail spines. Two of the 6mm and one of the 8mm. I use flouro to connect to the hook. I am looking for a fly that is less the two inches long. The 6mm spines and Tail Spine take 2-3 feathers to cover sufficiently. While the 8mm take 4-5 feathers. It really depends on the type of feathers. For the time being I am using mostly India Hen Backs. I am also trying Whiting Bramha Hen Capes where the feathers are longer. I am just experimenting until I can get these on the water and fish them. I have tested them in my swim tank and they move really well. It's important that you create a large head so that when the fly stops moving it folds back on its self. The Starter Pack gives you 25 of each. I use a TFS 2457 #8-#10 with bead chain eyes. My target species is smallies. Hope this helps. Mahalo, Kimo

MuskyFlyGuy 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2020 Thanks to Flytier and Mike C for the tips. I feel better about the most recent iteration. With the lead eyes and hook up, I am looking forward to fishing it this Spring. The high temperature tomorrow is predicted to be 1, so it is going to be quite a while before open water fishing.
