fshng2 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2020 Thanks PD, Mark & Niveker. The last one has been kitchen sink tested and floats fine. All that's left is the swim test to see how well it wiggles and dives.

dave 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2020 A nice, simple, and easy to tie frog. That's just the combo we need. It looks effective and appears simple and cheap enough to replace that you're not afraid of losing it so you can go ahead and throw it into fish holding/fly stealing places. Well done Dave
fshng2 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2020 It's Grasshopper Season Size: #10 Thanks Dave, yep frog is an easy tie once foam is prepped and Plasti dipped.

richmce 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2020 another alternative is to add material to a phelps floating jig. nice wide gap short hook,. just add tail and you can pull legs thru or just ti e them on using the same color thread that works for smallies too rob rich mc
fshng2 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2020 Nice assortment Denduke I need to try them as a strike indicator like you do. Rich mc have you seen how you can make your own Floating Jigs? This is something I have to try with some of my molds, just need to get some EPB and hooks. Adding legs is a great idea.

WadeMade1 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2021 Hello all. Craig "Sam" Blevins was my father and created the Sam's One Bug back in the early 80's. Tied a few thousand since then and continue to work on improving the design and color schemes. His classic Yellow and orange fly continues to be one of the most productive patterns I've fished in warm water. I use the 1/4" foam cylinders from WAPSI. Here are a few I have tied recently. Bets Regards, Wade B.
