small lake brook trout

I'm in north east Ontario, North Bay area.  Where in the lake are they hiding?  Spring? summer? Fall?  Fly suggestions.  Techniques?   Just starting out and am frustrated.

Most of the time they are in fairly sallow water. In the spring use nymphs. in the summer use nymphs, but if it is really warm out, go to dry flies. I like yeager's neversink caddis. In the fall, the will HAMMER egg flies. And in the winter when on the ice jig small lipless crankbaits. Best of luck.
