If I may, a suggestion:

I just think nets with a smooth transition look much more ... finished.

Mikechell, this one's for you.

That's looking pretty.  Can wait to see the finished work of art.

Mike I've got a net in the works with accents on the handle made from some really nice maple burl stabilized with blue resin--makes me think of you every time I see it. 🙂

😲  Makes me think of me, too!  Not being selfish ... but anything made with that blank  material will be GOOD!

I tell you, guys, if I can leep my mojo going I'm going to have some cool nets rolling out of here in a week or two. I just need a stretch of uninterrupted time to work on them!

Very nicely done! The joining of the handle and laminated frame is the most difficult part in my opinion. This looks great!

Finally finished.  The handle is curly maple and the hoop is birds eye maple with walnut accents.   The dots on the handle are spaced every two inches starting at 6" going to !8".  Made of 10 gauge solid copper wire.

Byron,

I do appreciate the compliments.  Most of all I really do appreciate the help and the encouragement.

Byron,

Is that Hickory you are using these two?

Michael, I wish I could find some Hickory locally. The green handle is Ash with Box Elder burl. The blue one is curly maple with maple burl. Both sets of lamination strips are Ash and Cherry.

I keep trying to find Hickory; it's a favorite of mine. The only place I can find it is Menards, but they only have 3/4 boards and I like 4/4

I'm gonna guess the green is buckeye burl? That looks beautiful.

It's actually Box Elder burl -- at least that's what the seller told me. I need to get better at identifying different species by sight.

Probably is box elder then. It's almost impossible to tell the two apart since they both have the nice green and brown burling. Real nice wood.
