Why did I buy this material

Recommended Posts

Finally getting back to doing some tying.   I was cleaning up and found some eyes I brought years ago.  I was younger then and flashy things attracted me.  Plus the maker guaranteed  these eyes would make my poppers,  sliders and streamers irresistible.  They didn't.  For lack of a better name the "Eye" fly.   To give you and idea of the size, they're tied on  size 6, 2xl hooks.P5050524.thumb.JPG.a402f6f9f14ac2ec397ad39c0ea05421.JPGP5050526.thumb.JPG.6f314657bb3ad6d40e785bd6ccb0bf10.JPG

Next up  I picked these "squids" up at a fishing flea market.  Can't go wrong for 5 for a $1.  I think I was planning on making a daisy chain for lake trolling with spinning gear.

Plan to use up all the eyes, might save a couple of squids and see if I can use them for legs on a frog pattern.

Nice ties, Philly. Those 'squid' flies look like they would work well on crappie on our local lake.
