Guest Report post Posted November 26, 2003 The holidays are here again, and I offer the following as tips to make this season more pleasurable..... 1. Make your rounds. Go and visit old friends and get re-acquianted. We get so caught up in the hassles of wvery day that we allow ourselves to drift away. Trim you sails and head to familiar friendly ports. 2. Smile. Be thankful that you have made it to another holiday season. I know I wish there were a few people still around to share a beer and a turkey sandwich with, but aren't. 3. If you feel like seconds, or thirds, or fourths, do it. It's just food. Sit at the table as long as you like. The longer you sit, the more time you have to talk to the only people in the world who really give a damn about what you have to say! 4. Play with the children after dinner. The game won't get interesting until the second half anyway! 5. Kiss your mama, your grandma, and your Aunt Tilly. It makes them feel like they are still the center of your world....and it makes them smile...so just do it and smile back. 6. Remember loved ones who can't be here...especially the boys and gals who have taken arms to protect us and our world. Say a pray for them, and do it out loud. Remember all those who have gone before them and never came home. 7. Sit back and enjoy the stress and the noises and the rackets of people clamouring in the kitchen, the dining room, and the living room. Think about how unbearable the silence would be without them making such a racket. 8. If you know someone who is alone...call them, then go see them. Even if its for a minute. Let them know they are thought of often and not alone. Five minutes could change someone's life forever. 9. Steal a moment away with your gal, or your fella, and let them know how special they are to you. We take so much for granted and don't think about how our lives would be so meaningless without them. 10. If you drink, don't do it alone or while watching UK play...it only breeds hostility!! LOL These are just Big Daddy's little points to ponder as we hit the roads and fight the hussle and bussle of thru-ways, expressways, and interstates just to eat overcooked, dry turkey with the in-laws and outlaws that we call family. Big Daddy loves ya. Drive safe, fish hard, and kiss your Aunt Tilly...... HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!
