Any of you hooligans fool with garden?   I got late start and abbreviated it some this year. No deer in garden but working on lil trees.......the JohnDL plow, one horse, me😛.   PatentPending deer guard system but it works!  The rabbits bump their ears going under it.  Baracade tape😉

I don't go vegetables or anything like that, but my backyard is all a flower/bonsai garden I take care of nicely every year. I actually was just out there 2 days ago working to get it into shape. I must be getting old because I spent about 6 hours working out there and the back of my legs for the past two days feels like someone hit me with a baseball bat.

Our yard is officially named "Chell's Plant Hospice".  It's where plants go to for a comfortable death.  We don't allow food plants, since they wouldn't have time to fulfill their destinies.  Flowers only ... some of which actually bloom before passing on.

Nice spread, love the plow.  A piece of very functional art from a long time ago and much prettier than anything combustion driven, save for you gruntin’ and fartin’ behind it.  I dig hand tools/people powered ideas like that. They may be more effort and even a bit arduous, yet relaxing and meditative at the same time.  Cool approach.👍

Still undecided on veggies and edibles this year.  Maybe some toms, perhaps a yellow crookneck, I dunno.  Blue Sage, Dill, Beebalm, and other pollinator friendlies have come back all by themselves from last year’s growth or seed drops.  Even B-Fly Milkweed is re-emerging now and I have some of last year’s seeds soaking/germinating in prep for a new enlarged space for them.

Always a pollinator garden here and there, sometimes veggies.  Heck, I thought the Larkspur was done & gone after the fungus blight last year, low & behold it survived underground and is all over again reaching for the sun.  Kinda wondering about my time when work starts again, any 2020 garden might just have to be a largely self-sustaining type of endeavor.

Probably just the Discovery channel looking for the lost ginseng hunters they dropped in to look for their lost Moonshiners.....  You sure have beautiful terrain out there, nice spots everywhere for gardening👍👍🚁🚁😎😎

Will try to get mine in next week. Had to take the tiller in to get it fixed.  Lettuce and spinach fresh out of one  raised bed.

Have 9 varieties of tomatoes, pepper plants and leeks ready to go in.

We have in:  Peas   Cucumbers   Chives.  Rosemary.  Parsley.   Green beans.  Beets. Cabbage.  Winter onions.  
Still have to plant:  Tomatoes (later this week)

we start everything from seeds except the herbs

We went micro small this year...2 Tomato plants, 2 Pepper plants a Squash plant and a Cucumber plant

Still waiting on the tiller. Took 27 five gallon buckets of weeds out of the garden.  I hate creeping Charlie.

A few years ago, a guy near us planted exactly *one* corn stalk. 

He tended to it like it was the finest of roses.

I would've loved to have been there to witness the dinner that he had when he finally picked his "harvest". I bet it was luxurious. 😀

I've been working on one this year. I've planted some the past two years, but not a lot & not much success, as I had been traveling a lot so tending to it was lacking. This year I've stayed home, and got seeds started back in mid March, and have been transplanting to the garden. 

This is what I have, although I have got about a half row of green beans planted since this photo was taken. The second pic is what I still have to get moved.  I have 2 types of tomatoes, yellow squash & zucchinni, radishes, spinach, collards & kale, carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, green beans, peas and some honey dew melons. Also planted some asparagus.
