The Mad Duck 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2020 I'm sure you could find someone that could encase it in a Lucite cube or globe.
Guest Report post Posted May 26, 2020 You can buy the resin at HobbyLobby then gotta find something to use as mold. I did some mostly key fobs, business cards, jewelry. Did a couple for daughter to celebrate a trip to the Keys (fly I caught the cuda) and one for Henry’s Fork Idaho ( stone fly adult and my nymph and dry used to catch brown). DOUG STOUT 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2020 Here are a couple ways. Glass ball, Glass dome , and a shadow box. Everything except the stand for the ball came from Hobby Lobby. I made the ball stand from a long skinny triangular piece of lexan that I heated over my oven top burner and bent to shape.
DarrellP 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2020 I used a baseball cube and put a large wine cork in it. For several flies. It is already packed so no photo, sorry.

Capt Bob LeMay 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2020 One of the suggestions I make to my anglers after a noteworthy fly catch is to buy or make a shadowbox that not only holds the fly that was used but also the best photo taken that day of that prized catch (and release...). Mostly I'm talking about a single photo box with a place underneath it for the fly (after the fly has been cleaned up and thoroughly dried..). Many years ago when I started working on charterboats everyone was quite into killing fish and having them mounted (and every young mate at the time made good money in the process...). I'm glad that that world seems to have faded quite a bit and always thought that a single good photo (an action shot if possible) with the fly mounted beneath it was far preferable... James 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2020 Have have for a while been using baseball card holder take a small section on single side foam place where you would like to have your fly push the point of the fly through the foam close the case and you can view from both sides. I you are hand with wood working you could build a stand and place the baseball display case on to the wood base if you would like some photos I can some later.
