Spruce Moth variation of the caddis; tied this one as a full bullethead, trimmed out underneath.

hook - WFC Model 4 #10
thread - UTC 140 cream
shuck - deer hair butts
rib - Krystal Flash rootbeer
body - dubbing cream
head/wing - deer hair

Renegade
My go to fly for ant hatches. Also great as a "locator fly" when
I hang something behind it. Be it another smaller dry, emerger or dropper.

Thread - Tan or black

Tail - Ginger hackle fibers

Body - Deer hair

Wing - Grizzly hen hackle tips (there is also a version with a wing of white calf tail)

It's that time of the year. This has been my post productive fly for trout.
Fished on an intermediate line and presented from shore this is my favorite fly.

My favorite pattern is the goddard caddis. I tied a bunch in April, and now they have all been chewed to pieces. I work on these all the time, and only 1 in 3 or 4 look like this one. Still, even the imperfect ones really fish well.
