The original’s wing is a single strand of poly yarn tied on in front of the post; I was curious about the winging technique Kelly Galloup used on his Bobby Spinner, tying it in on the side of the hook, so I tried it here. hook - WFC Model 3 #14 thread - MFC 8/0 sand tail - hackle grizzly body - biot callibaetis wing - Congo Hair white post - Parapost hot orange thorax - Superfine dubbing callibaetis hackle - grizzly Start thread at 3/4 mark, wrap to bend Strip off some hackle fibers, stack, measure (shank length); tie in Tie in (moistened) biot, notch side down Wrap to 3/4 mark; tie off/trim Tie in a strand of CH on each side at 3/4 mark Tie in Parapost on top; post up, tie in hackle, shiny side out Dub thread, dub thorax, gathering wing with wraps in front of and behind Pull wings down, wrap hackle down post; capture tip with wraps at base of post Half hitch x 2 at base of wing, SHHAN, trim wings/trim post Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
