troutmaster08 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2020 Just tied this caddis fly and thought it looked both good and bad at the same time. What do you guys think?
James 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2020 I think that you are correct. Good I like that your body and wing placement look good. For bad small things will need a little attention caddis really don't have tails I would get rid of that as for wings it looks like you are using CDC feather you can trim the one on there now not to extend past the bend of the hook and the head it looks like you have all the butt ends coming out past the hook eye just a little minor things but good job please share your next attempt
steve sparkie 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2020 Hi your caddis loose the tail and make a doubled over CDC it will give the pattern a better float make the body out of dubbed CDC also check out marc Petit jeans caddis patterns on you tube hope this helps the way you've tied the caddis pattern loose the tail trim the wing and you have a surface film caddis or to improve the float use more CDC in the also if you tie another tie a fatter tapered body this will give the pattern a better silhotte from the fishes view when they are looking up at the surface film hope this is helpful to you Kind regards Steve 😉
