Sandan 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2020 VIDEO_20200724_125843.mp4 A couple of buddies and our sons spent the week of July 18-26 in the Gunnison area. We fished it up. Cochetopa and Tomichi Creeks. The Cimmaron River and the middle fork of the Cimmaron. Below and above Silver jack Reservoir respectively. The lake fork of the Gunnison as well as the Taylor, East and Gunnison areas. A great time was had by all. (can't get rid of that blank video, anyone know how?)

Hat trick, got fish on all three. It's still too early for the kokes to run out of Blue Mesa. Come late Sept. we'll hit 'em.
fshng2 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2020 Real nice and long enough trip to get acclimated to the surroundings. Did you camp or have lodging?

We definitely had enough time to get acclimated and figure things out. We camped for a week at a campsite called Red Bridge. It's a bit more than halfway from Gunnison to Lake City in CO149. $5.00/night unless you have, as my friend does, a BLM senior pass. Then it's all of 2.50/night. First come first served, there are 4 campsites there. Lots more in the area.
