mikechell 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2020 Long dry spell ... then BAM! Good to see some flies and posts from you, JS. I'm at the USCG Yard near Baltimore this week, if that rings any bells. Good looking bucktail flies, too!

I've been targeting spotted bass in small streams quite a bit lately and decided to try tying a Longear Sunfish patterned Lunch Money to match the hatch. Planning to test it out sometime in the next few days. Chris That looks super! I dig it!

A large jungle cock "ear" strategically placed probably wouldn't have made this fly more effective but it might have given it just a little bit of visual kick to other tiers. Nice job, I bet it'll drive bass crazy. Thanks! That thought actually crossed my mind, but I admittedly don't have any jungle cock at the moment. I'm a little surprised they are taking in vagrants. I work in the cough, cough, ahem, navy now and we're still in somewhat of a travel/training lockdown. Not that I didn't appreciate any of the Catskill-style flies before, but a lot of recent reading on their history has greatly increased my interest. Great job. Thanks Jaime. I'm a respectable bum! Two: You've always been in the navy ... just the shallow water side before.
