August Flies From the Vise

I don't know Mike, I've caught some decent shad, specks and sunfish on #14's around C.S. Lee and the Econ on the St. Johns.  Maybe you are  missing out. ;)

I've no doubt larger fish will hit tiny flies.  Lots of pictures and videos to prove it.  My own experience, however, has convinced me those same fish will hit larger flies.  It's rare that I hook a 2" sunfish on a size 8 or 6 fly.  Whenever I've tried a smaller fly, I catch many more tiny fish than larger ones.  So, I rarely try anything smaller than a 10 these days.

I wade from shore and it’s dicey. This was 2 yrs ago. Last year we lost a 20 yr old on a boogie board.

That stuff is crazy! The lady screaming "Get out of the water! shark"! Thats just too much.

Thats how I felt when I saw a Grizzly by the boat ramp after I got my boat on the trailer. I drove to the campgrounds in the area and let people know.
