Landon P 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2020 Im looking for something simple but not to simple to tie. I've done the Rusty Rat the blue charm and a few others. What should I tie next?

SalarMan 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2020 Early on I tied and carried LOTS of patterns for my trips to Canada for Atlantic Salmon. Over a couple of years I whittled them down to the following...Rusty Rat; Silver Rat; Cosseboom; Black Bear Green Butt & Mickey Finn. There were a couple of additions later when I expanded the number of rivers fished to include some local favorites...Tiger Ghost; Pompier; Nighthawk & Green Highlander (hairwing). I found these flies would work anywhere, anytime.
Guest Anon Report post Posted October 3, 2020 In the fall you'll want some red flies, like an Ally's Shrimp or a Chief Needahbeh. I like a Cardinelle with a bit of flash in the wing. And for the times when nothing seems to work, you might want to tie on a sheep fly.
