One fine answer is flytiers series of videos on this site! Look at the "FTF Videos" section on this site. He shows easy to tie, limited number of material flies that are ideal for the new tier! And if you want to try a fly swap I'm running a series of swaps set up particularly for the new tier - Check on this forum section for info and heads up and then go to the "Fly Swaps & Contests" section for the currently open swaps and themes.
