As handy as your are Mark you could probably make your own wing burner from scrap metal you have lying around.

October Caddis Softhackle

A minor change to one I found on the interweb - added the aftershaft thorax for a bit more buggieness; gonna change the tag to copper tinsel on the next one.

 hook - WFC Model 6 #8
thread - UTC 70 burnt orange
tag/rib - medium wire copper
abdomen - dubbing rusty orange
thorax - aftershaft dyed orange (1 Tbs Rit Sunshine Orange/1 cup water)
hackle - sharptail grouse

October Caddis Softhackle II

The sharptail hackle was a bit underwhelming; switched to pheasant rump and sandwiched it between wraps of the aftershaft.

hackle - pheasant rump dyed brown

Scott

Goodness, that looks good. Put on some purple hackle and some purple in the body and it's perfect for Halloween.

Very nice Chugbug27

@chugbug27, very nice is right, and that's a killer hopper pattern, but not hugely durable. I fish it a lot when the hoppers are out.

Very nice hopper Chugbug, and thanks for using & posting Aileen's Flexible Stretchable.

I have used Aileen’s Fabric Fusion but didn’t know about the Flexible Stretchable.

Ribs have healed enough where I think I can spend a few hours in the water.  This weekend will be my last shot. This a favorite pattern of mine for the salt marshes around here.
