Mark never tied with wolverine is it slippery like bear & squirrel? does not look like it flares under tension. And I like the feather wing, may have to tie a few of those.

It isn't slippery, I had no trouble with that. You are right, it isn't hollow like the deer hairs are so it doesn't flair.

Mark Knapp,

Great flies!   Take the color away and leave just a black and white picture and you could have a plate from Bill Blades' neat book "Fishing Flies and Fly Tying" from 1951!

Congrats

@TSMcDougald

nice Butchers.  Your comment started me on a search and then attempt at Bergman's Butcher:

Hook: #8, 2XL
Thread: White for body
Body: Red Floss
Rib: Yellow floss
Tail: Red duck quill
Thread: Black for head
Hackle: Badger saddle hackle, dyed yellow (I think the original calls for a stiff silver badger, of which I have none.

Lesson learned: embroidery floss is a poor substitute when needing a smooth body.

Looks good!

Whatcha using for da wings?   Tried to find a reasonably facsimile at HL with no luck today.   Gonna try to cut some outa mesh ribbon stuff.  That looks great w/o detached body!  Mark uses a similar wing too, I think.  Thanks, one of youse guys.

I have lots of the wing stuff if anybody wants some.

It's thinner than the Mylar sheet I have.

Lem'me know if you want some. It looks like someone had been cutting some wings from it with a cutter before I got it.

Funny how we only see those things after we take the picture. It's very pretty and nicely done. Is the "whatchamacallit" next?

Really nice fly.  I use a lot of Teeny nymphs and this looks like an upgrade.  How do you fish this?
