Category - Stonefly Nymph
 
Hook - Mustad R74-9672, size 6-12
Thread - Dark brown
Tail - Dark ginger hackle fibers
Ribbing - Black thread
Body - Pale green floss
Back - A coating of dark brown lacquer is applied to the back of the fly and allowed to dry to a hard glossy consistency (as many coats as necessary)
Hackle - Dark ginger hackle as a wet fly collar

Thread - Black
Tail - Brown hackle fibers
Ribbing - Black thread
Body - Pale green floss
Back - Brown antron yarn tied in at the bend of the hook and pulled forward after the completion of the body. The back is then coated with a thin layer of UV Resin and cured.
Hackle - Brown hackle as a wet fly collar
Head - Solarez Bone Dry UV Resin
 
Originated by Emil Grimm, this pattern has long been popular in the East

Been tying Carey Specials for a long time and never thought to put a deer head on them; duh.

hook - WFC Model 6 #8
thread - Danville 6/0 black 
tail - pheasant rump
rib - oval tinsel gold 
abdomen - dubbing olive/dark ginger 
thorax - Ice Dub Pheasant Tail
shoulder - pheasant rump 
collar/head - deer hair dyed olive
