Thread: UTC 70 Black

Body: 1x 1.5 mm Black and Yellow foam strips furled

Wing:  Moose body hair (sparse)

Thorax: Black dubbing

Legs/Antennae: Barred Centipede legs

Head: Black dubbing 

Can be tied with different color combinations as needed.

@niveker Thanks . Yes sometimes the green background works out better and sometimes not. You would think black would

work for some colors but for the most part nada.  Again I taking these shots with my cheap ipad and I’m sure that’s got something todo with it but at least the photos are at least passable.

tail - marabou dyed hot pink (1 Tbs Rit Fuchsia/4 cups water)
body - Ice Dub Hot Pink

Thank you felt like doing something traditional, been working on just filling my boxes up with standard flies and was getting bored lol. One can only tie so many hare’s ears and Caddis patterns.

Yes that’s the nice thing about fly tying. The possibilities are endless and the internet has made it like the universe. So many nice flies coming out of Europe these days. The choices are endless.

Skittering Z-lon midge, variant. 

Hook: U201 size 24

Thread: Veevus 16/0 black

Shuck/wing: brown Z-lon

Body: stripped BWO peacock herl 

Hackle: med. dun whiting silver saddle. 

Original calls for black wing, dun shuck and grizzly hackle.

Two wraps of hackle behind the wing and one in front.
