@Sandan.   Really beautiful !

@Moshup Thank you. (next time I'll remember to put horns on. To me the fly looks naked w/o 'em.  On the other hand I sure don't want to waste any of the macaw.

Playing reindeer games with muddlers; although I’m a couple weeks late for the holidays, I decided to add the prominent proboscis.  The hair spins and trims like a wet dream; not as fragile as the pronghorn.

 hook - WFC Model 6 #8
thread - single strand floss fluoro red
rib - small oval tinsel gold
body - dubbing hare’s ear
shoulder - sharptail grouse
collar/head - caribou hair

Regards,
Scott

Butcher-Nymph-1080.jpg

Butcher Nymph

Category - Nymph/wet fly

Hook - Mustad S80-3906, S82-3906B (or equivalent substitute), Size 8-14

Thread - Black

Tail - Red hackle fibers

Rib - Oval silver tinsel

Body - Flat silver tinsel

Wing case: Black feather fibers

Thorax - Black dubbing

Hackle - Black hen

This pattern is a nymph-shaped version of the classic wet Butcher. The difference lies in the fact that the wing on the original has been substituted for a wing case, and a thorax of black fur is added to enhance the nymph shape. This fly is an attractor pure and simple.

@Moshup you're killing it. I really like your use of materials. The colors all seem to just click into place.
