niveker 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2021 A couple of real nice ties, @cphubert. I only recently started paying more attention to those white tipped starling feathers, I'm surprised they are not used more for this kind of tie. I have a long list of 'nexts' on my shopping list, but a dyed starling is near the top.
Toothy 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2021 1 hour ago, niveker said: Very nice tie, Toothy! Do you fish these often? Thank you niveker! I do enjoy fishing these no hackle flies. I just completed tying 2 dozen of this very pattern. The wings obviously don’t stay together once you start fishing them but that doesn’t hinder their effectiveness. If you are fishing less turbulent water I am not sure there is a pattern that gives a superior profile.
